More tales from the road…
I’d been meaning to share this tragic little photo for ages. Remember when we were in Italy, and Dave and Jamie wanted to stop off in the town of Modena, on the way home from the Montelago Celtic Festival? Modena, of course, being the home of Ferrari, and Dave and Jamie being massive Ferrari fans, it would have been like driving past Universal Studios in late 2004 for me (Browncoats know what I mean…)
Gigi was just keen to get us back home, so he could get home himself. He’d done a good 17 hours on the road in the past 36 hours, and he just wanted to get it over and done with. We came within just a few miles of Modena on the motorway, Dave and Jamie were practically frothing at the mouth, but Gigi wouldn’t have it.
“We Italians don’t care about Ferrari, it’s no big deal” was his general comment.
Poor Jamie and Dave were inconsolable. They were still crying* during our layover in Stansted, 2 days later, and it was all they could do to dry their tears over Jamie’s Ferrari t-shirt:
It wasn’t until Jamie pulled out his phone to get some racing results over the internet that they finally dried off their tears, enough at least to see the screen clearly:
I suspect that if we make it back to Italy next year, there will have to be something in the contract about a trip to Modena. Else we’ll be sans bass player, but it won’t matter anyway cause we’ll have no sound engineer.
*It should be noted that Jamie and Dave are, infact, too manly to shed tears, and that any suggestion that they might have done so is for entertainment purposes only.

Hey! You don’t know me but I was told to check your blog out, because I’m a HUUUUGE Whedon-fan myself and I love Scottish/Irish music.
I also happen to be a good friend of Miss Sweden…in fact, she has even called me her little mother…I’m sure she can tell you more about that!
Anyway, I’ll read your blog from time to time.
